Snoop Dogg biopic is being developed at Universal Pictures

Snoop Dogg is getting a big-screen biopic. Universal Pictures reported Wednesday that the studio is fostering a film about Snoop Dogg’s life to be delivered by the 51-year-old rapper. The movie will be composed by Joe Robert Cole, who co-composed the two Black Panther films and coordinated by Allen Hughes, the producer of Danger II Society.

“I held up quite a while to assemble this task since I needed to pick the right chief, the ideal essayist, and the best film organization I could collaborate with that could comprehend the heritage that I’m attempting to depict on screen, and the memory I’m attempting to abandon,” Snoop said in an explanation. “It was the ideal marriage. It was sacred marriage, not blessed macaroni.”

Universal recently turned the account of N.W.A. into the hit 2015 film Straight Outta Compton and delivered the acclaimed Eminem biopic 8 Mile in 2002. Cole said the studio “has demonstrated they can direct a film like this to something uniquely great.”

Chairman of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group Donna Langley , stated she encountered Snoop shortly after he procured Death Row Records. His obtaining was declared only days before Snoop acted in the Super Bowl halftime show in February with Kendrick Lamar, Dr Dre, Mary J. Blige, Eminem.

Snoop Dogg got through in the mid-’90s as a feature of the West Coast rap scene as a partner of Dr. Dre’s. He’s sold over 35 million albums overall in his three-decade profession. He’ll create the film alongside Sara Ramaker and Hughes.
