Netflix has shared the first teaser for Tim Burton’s impending series Wednesday, where Jenna Ortega is uncovered in the full ensemble as the lead protagonist Wednesday Addams.
The teaser, delivered today (June 7), was delivered as a component of Netflix’s Geeked Week – in which the real-time feature shared teasers and trailers for impending programming, including the third time of The Umbrella Academy & DC’s new sequel The Sandman.
The video sees Ortega recorded from different close-ups before a wide shot shows her rise out of the shadows and uncovering her whole new look. Thing, a celestial hand, then arrives on her shoulder while both she and it snap their fingers – a reference to the particular finger-clicks from the signature tune of The Addams Family.

Wednesday was initially declared in February 2021 by Netflix, with Burton reporting to making his first time at the helm for a TV series. Ortega was subsequently uncovered to play the protagonist in May of that year. In August, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán were added to the cast, playing Wednesday’s mom and father, Morticia and Gomez Addams.
In March 2022, Christina Ricci – who depicted Wednesday Addams during the 90s surprisingly realistic movies The Addams Family & Addams Family Values – was reported to join the show in an, at this point, undisclosed job. It is accepted that she will play another person in the series rather than a more established rendition of Wednesday.
Wednesday will stamp the first time the Addams Family characters have shown up in a surprisingly realistic TV variation since 1998’s The New Addams Family. Last year saw the arrival of The Addams Family 2, a continuation of 2019’s vivified reboot, which featured Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron and Chloë Grace Moretz.
An authority delivery date for Wednesday has not yet been shared by Netflix, even though it is anticipated for late 2022.
